About
Marronnier Park is a cultural and artistic hub for Seoul citizens, located on the former site of Seoul National University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Law. A marronnier tree grows here, planted on April 5, 1929, during the Gyeongseong Imperial University era, the predecessor of Seoul National University. The park is named after this tree. It features a children's playground, an outdoor stage, a fountain park, and sculptures. The outdoor stage is used for concerts and various cultural events. Around the park are small theaters such as the Munye Center Grand Theater, Batanggol Small Theater, and Dongsoong Art Center. Many famous restaurants and cafes with diverse concepts are also nearby. The park hosts numerous free performances and events year-round, offering plenty to participate in and enjoy whenever you visit.
