About

Naksan Park is a park where visitors can enjoy history and culture, connected from Daehangno and Dongdaemun. Naksan was also called 'Naktasan' because its terrain resembled a camel's back, and 'Tarak Mountain' due to a royal pasture that supplied milk to the palace. After the 1960s, Naksan's original appearance disappeared due to dense residential areas and public housing, leading the Seoul Metropolitan Government to establish a Naksan restoration plan. As part of this plan, a park development project was carried out, and Naksan Park opened in July 2002. The central plaza of Naksan Park features the Naksan Exhibition Hall, a central stage, and a snack bar, making it a good place to rest. A parking lot directly below the plaza makes access convenient. The Naksan Exhibition Hall, located at the park entrance, provides various information to visitors, displaying the origin of Naksan, historical figures, and photographic materials and models of the Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall). On weekends, park programs about Naksan and the Seoul Hanyangdoseong are offered free of charge to everyone. On one side of the plaza is Naksanjeong Pavilion. Naksanjeong is a pavilion built during Naksan's restoration, offering an excellent panoramic view of Seoul. It has become a resting place for citizens, where the Seoul Hanyangdoseong and lush forests create a beautiful atmosphere, and it is renowned as one of the best places to see Seoul's beautiful night view. From the top of the hill, visitors can go to Ihwa Mural Village with its houses and murals, the Dongdaemun course leading to Heunginjimun Gate and the Hanyangdoseong Trail, and the Hanseong University Station course, where one can walk along the entire outer fortress wall. ◎ Travel Information to Experience the Charm of Hallyu - Animation This is one of the places where Rumi and Jinwoo walked and talked in the Netflix animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' The impressive urban landscape of Seoul unfolding beyond the fortress wall deeply conveys the animation's emotions. A real visit offers a special experience, allowing one to overlook the entire Seoul cityscape along with the tranquil fortress path.
