Hwanglidan-gil is Gyeongju's trendiest street, a portmanteau of Hwangnam-dong and Itaewon's Gyeongnidan-gil, meaning 'Gyeongnidan-gil in Hwangnam-dong.' It refers to the area on both sides of the road from Naenam Intersection to Hwangnam Elementary School Intersection, encompassing Hwangnam-dong and Sajeong-dong. The street retains the charm of the past with old buildings from the 1960s and 70s preserved as they were. In recent years, young people have flocked here, leading to the emergence of atmospheric cafes, charming souvenir shops, and unique restaurants. Initially, shops were concentrated along the main road, but as Hwanglidan-gil expanded, distinctive stores have been popping up in every alley. It has become an essential course for Gyeongju travel and is gaining popularity as a Gyeongju hotspot, allowing visitors to explore nearby attractions like Cheomseongdae and Daereungwon.
