About
Gwanghwamun Square, which has been renovated and opened to the public, transforms Sejong-ro, the 600-year-old central street of Seoul, from a vehicle-oriented street to a human-centered space. It has been newly created as a space where visitors can enjoy beautiful natural landscapes such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bugaksan Mountain, and reborn as a historical and cultural experience space through the restoration of Yukjo Street, the old appearance of Sejong-ro. In the initial section, 'Square Restoring the History of Gwanghwamun,' the Woldae was recreated and the Haechi statues were restored. In the 'Square Recreating the Scenery of Yukjo Street' section around Sejong-ro Park, traces of Yukjo Street, which was the central street of Hanyang in the past, were recreated, and a miniature model symbolizing it was also installed.
