The Jumunjin Breakwater, the fated location of Ji Eun-tak's first encounter with Kim Shin in the tvN drama <Goblin>, where she blew out a candle to summon him and received buckwheat flowers. Create your own Goblin story at this place, filled with the drama's emotion and excitement.

Goblin Episode 1, 1 hour 10 minutes 50 seconds. The moment Ji Eun-tak, sitting alone at the end of the breakwater, blows out the candles on her birthday cake, Gong Yoo appears. This scene, which begins with him offering buckwheat flowers—flowers that symbolize lovers—is the moment the entire drama's romance first unfolds.

Even though more than seven years have passed since its broadcast in 2016, lines for proof shots (인증샷) form not only on weekends but also on weekdays. The breakwater from the drama remains exactly as it was, and there are still nearby shops that rent red scarves and buckwheat flower props for 1,000 won. Foreign visitors are consistently present, with fans from China even bringing their own artificial flowers to take pictures.

The breakwater itself is an ordinary fishing village breakwater with no special facilities. However, when combined with the expansive East Sea, the sound of waves, and the winter wind, it's a place where you can feel the exact same atmosphere as in the drama. There are many cafes and gelato shops nearby, making it a great spot to take photos and relax. It's about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Gangneung, making it easy to incorporate into your Gangneung travel itinerary.
